Location service problem?

Hi,

I have been using a Garmin Glo external GPS with my iPad Air 2 (wifi only version) for the past year. Since the recent upgrade to IOS 10 (it says that it's 10.0.2), my Glo connects properly and I get GPS tracking for about 3-5 minutes. However, then it stops tracking. The Glo still shows that it is connected via Bluetooth, but no tracking.

I think this is a problem with the location service and possibly the new IOS, but not sure. Is anyone else having this problem? I can't find any thing when I do a search.

By the way, I use the iSailor app in conjunction with the Glo to navigate.

I have this problem too using the aviation app Sky Demon. On the sky demon forum many other users have this too. The latest answer from sky demon tech support is that it is a problem in IOS 10 with Bluetooth communication. Apple have acknowledged this with sky demon. It will be fixed in release 10.2. Also ensure your firmware is up to date in the Garmin Glo. Go to the garmin site and download "web updater" to a PC or MAC. Connect Garmin Glo to USB. Run Web updater and it will see Garmin Glo and update firmware if necessary. In the mean time we have to wait for IOS 10.2. This is all the info I have managed to gleen from scouring the web. Very annoying particularly as something similar occurred with Bluetooth in IOS 8.4 I think. I am not sure if Bad Elf has the same problem. Hope this helps.
